About Us

What’s TechNimbus?

TechNimbus is a blog focusing on consumer, educational and corporate technology- its rapid pace, its role in social culture, its ability to bring people together and embarrass by lack of online privacy. It might take a dip into public policy, internet freedom, the ability of social media to bring social or political change, or it could focus on the next big gadget from the Consumer Electronics Show.

As technology changes, so will TechNimbus. Take the path of the cell phone, its processor growing exponentially from a small chip able to make a phone call to a dual-core chip that outperforms netbooks and rivals notebooks.

Why TechNimbus?

The name was the incorporation of “technology” and “nimbus”- a cloud that signals precipitation.  For thousands of years, people have looked for nimbus clouds- either with affection in the desert, or with trepidation during a flood or monsoon season.  Together, TechNimbus is a look ahead, through press releases, rumors, leaks and other news of what is to come in technology.
